About Us
Founded in 1963, Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya has been a beacon of learning and service for over six decades. Established by Late Sri C. S. Krishnaswamy, under the guidance of his father and deeply inspired by the teachings of the Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, the Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya was the first private school in Hassan district, to blend traditional Indian values with modern education.
Late Sri C. S. Krishnaswamy drew profound inspiration from the lives of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Sri Sharadadevi, and Swami Vivekananda, whose simplicity, ideals, and spiritual vision shaped his philosophy of education. His dream was to build an institution where knowledge and character grow hand in hand, and where learning becomes a path to self-realization and service.
Over the years, the Vidyalaya has nurtured generations of students, many of whom are distinguished alumni who have excelled in diverse fields, contributing meaningfully to society while upholding the values imbibed during their formative years here. Today, the school continues its unwavering commitment to holistic education — fostering not just academic excellence, but also integrity, discipline, and compassion.
Sri C. S. Krishnaswamy was supported by his wife Smt. Sudha throughout this journey, playing a crucial role in the foundation and success of the institution. Together, they worked tirelessly to create an environment where children could grow academically, morally, and spiritually. Her dedication to the cause of education and her compassionate involvement in the community became one of key factors in the institution's long-lasting success.
